Creative Grooming Add-On: Patch Test
$10 (Refundable with Booking)
A patch test is required for all first-time creative grooming clients to ensure your pet’s safety and comfort. We apply a small amount of dye to a discreet area and monitor for any skin reactions over 24-48 hours. If no reaction occurs, your pet is cleared for full creative grooming.

Creative Grooming Disclaimer
At Poised Pooch Grooming Studio, LLC, we use Opawz semi-permanent dye, a pet-safe, non-toxic coloring product designed specifically for dogs. While we take every precaution to ensure a vibrant and beautiful result, please be aware of the following:
Color results vary based on your dog's natural coat color, texture, and condition. Lighter coats (white, cream, or light gray) absorb and display colors more vividly, while darker coats may require a lightening base treatment to achieve bright hues.
The final color may not look exactly like the reference photo. Each dog’s coat reacts differently to color application, and slight variations in shade, vibrancy, and longevity are expected.
Color fading times vary. Semi-permanent dyes gradually fade over 4-6 weeks, depending on your pet’s coat type, lifestyle, and bathing routine. Lighter colors may last longer, while darker or coarser fur may fade more quickly.
There is a small risk of temporary color transfer. We recommend keeping your dog away from light-colored furniture, bedding, and clothing for the first few days after application, especially if the coat gets wet.
We cannot guarantee full color removal. While most colors will fade naturally, some shades may leave a lasting tint, especially on white or light-colored fur. If you are unsure about long-term color effects, we suggest starting with a small test area.
Poised Pooch Grooming Studio, LLC is not responsible for unexpected color results, fading, or any staining that may occur on fur, skin, or household items. By booking a creative grooming service, you acknowledge and accept the possibility of variations in color and longevity.

Creative Grooming FAQ
1. Is the color safe for my dog?
Yes! We only use Opawz semi-permanent dyes, which are non-toxic, pet-safe, and free from harsh chemicals like ammonia or peroxide. Your pet’s health and comfort are our top priorities.
2. How long does the color last?
Opawz semi-permanent color typically lasts 4 to 6 weeks, depending on your dog’s coat type, color, and how often they are bathed. Lighter coats may hold color longer than darker ones.
3. Can the color stain my furniture or clothes?
There is a slight chance of temporary color transfer when the dye is fresh, especially if your dog gets wet. We recommend avoiding light-colored furniture, bedding, or clothing for the first few days after application.
4. Can I choose multiple colors for my dog?
Absolutely! Each additional color is $10 per area, and we can create beautiful blends, ombré effects, or multi-color designs based on your vision.
5. Do you offer color for black or dark-coated dogs?
Yes, but dark coats require a lightening base treatment before applying vibrant colors. This service comes at an additional charge and may not be suitable for all coat types.
6. Will the color completely wash out?
Semi-permanent color fades gradually over several weeks and may never fully wash out on white or very light fur. Regular grooming and bathing will help speed up fading if needed.
7. Does my dog need a bath before getting colored?
Yes! A clean coat allows the color to absorb more effectively. Creative grooming is an add-on service, but we highly recommend “The Works” for the best results.
8. Can any dog get creative grooming?
Not all dogs are ideal candidates. We do not recommend creative grooming for:
Dogs with sensitive skin or allergies
Puppies under 6 months old
Dogs with matting, open wounds, or pre-existing skin conditions
If you're unsure, we can perform a patch test before a full-color service.
9. How long does the creative grooming process take?
It depends on the design, size, and coat type. Simple color accents take about 30-45 minutes, while full-body dyeing can take 2-3 hours.
10. Can I bathe my dog at home after creative grooming?
Yes, but we recommend waiting at least 72 hours before the first wash to allow the color to set. Use a gentle, sulfate-free dog shampoo to help maintain vibrancy.
